Waste Oil Collection Nationwide

With more and more businesses being aware of the environment and the impact waste has on it, most people now understand the importance of recycling. Not only is it good for the environment, it is also good for business.

The UK law requires businesses who produce waste oil to store and dispose of it correctly, there is strict legislation in place governing the safe storage, handling and disposal of oil.

It is illegal to pour oil waste into the drain, it can have devastating effects on the environment if it reaches our water sources, polluting rivers, lakes and our drinking water. Businesses have a legal requirement to use specialist companies to dispose of their oil. GWR Waste Management can work with you to ensure your oil waste is stored properly and disposed of in accordance with relevant legislation. Let us take the headache out of oil disposal so you can get on with running your business.

Waste Oil Recycling Drums And Containers

It is very important to store your waste oil correctly, this will prevent oil accidently entering our water supply. GWR Waste Management can provide you with several different solutions for your waste oil. The type of container you require will depend upon the type and volume of oil you are disposing of.

We can provide oil containers for smaller amounts of waste, oil barrels and oil drums  for larger amounts of waste and for the bigger producers of waste oil we can provide oil tanks.

What Happens To The Oil We Collect?

The oil is transported to a treatment centre where it is Dewatered, a process that removes free water from the oil. Next it is filtered to remove any materials and additives from the oil. It is then distilled to purify the oil and remove any contaminants such as nitrogen, chlorine, oxygen etc.

Used oil can be processed into fuel oils, re-refined into lubricants and used as raw materials for the refining and petrochemical industries.

The same businesses that use regular oil also can use re-refined oil, since recycling  re-processes used oil into new, high-quality lubricating oil. In some cases, businesses that use large volumes of oil, reuse the same oil that they send to be recycled. This really does close the recycling loop.
