Wood Waste

Nationwide Wood Collection and Recycling

What is Waste Wood?

It is estimated that businesses in the UK produce 2 million tonnes of wood waste each year. This is a huge amount of resource that is readily available and can be recycled easily.  Depending upon the quality grade of the wood waste it can be used for material recycling or energy production.

There are broadly 3 different grades of waste wood.

What Happens to Wood Waste?

Once your wood waste is collected it is taken to a specialist recycling centre where it is sorted according to its grade.

Once the waste wood is sorted it goes through a primary shredding process, the shredded material is then separated to remove any recyclable material such as metals. Finally the waste wood is finely shredded/granulated. This material is then ready to be repurposed.
